Ichang Papeda


Citrus ichangensis:

A very ancient citrus from China. The petioles are almost as big as the leaf, making it look like a double leaf. A very pretty plant, the fruit has a very pungent flavour but is not very edible. The plant is fairly hardy and often used in cold hardy Citrus breeding and definitely one to try outside for those experimenting "hardy" Citrus.

Yuzu is a natural hybrid between this and a satsuma.
