This is another really ancient Citrus species.
The fruit can be very large, with very bumpy, thick rind. The huge fruit are often the first thing people ask about when they walk into our glasshouses.
When it is fully ripe, it is yellowy orange, the oil in the skin has a distinctive scent and is used for "lemon" candied peel and it also makes a great Limoncello.
Grown around the Amalfi region, often on frames, used as shade over vegetables so can be confused with the Amalfi Lemon
