This is a full blood orange and one of the three varieties grown in Sicily along with Sanguinello and Tarocco.
This variety is renowned for it's deep red fruits and and the flesh can bee a deep burgundy colour some years.
The deeper the colour of the flesh the richer the raspberry-like flavour becomes.
