This is the variety normally found in supermarkets.
Oval in shape the fruit has a sweet skin and a sour flesh and can be eaten whole or used in cooking .
Although kumquats are pretty hardy, they need the most heat to flower, so we keep them inside our glasshouses even in the summer to get fruit. They will almost certainly not flower outside in the UK.
