Shaddock or Pummelo

Citrus maxima:

Widely known in South China and India this ancient fruit is the parent of the modern grapefruit.

It is believed that Captain Shaddock from the East India Company took seed to Barbados where later the Grapefruit was discovered.

The flowers, borne in clusters, are large and very heavily scented.

The fruit can be much larger than a grapefruit and varies in shape from almost round to pear-shaped.
